Thanks to my colleague June Maguire for this blog posts which gives an update on teacher training – Rebecca
Are you interested in applying for teacher training in England & Wales, but think it’s too late for this year? Well the good news is that there are still many places available, even in very popular subjects such as history. The Teaching Agency has provided the figures for applications last year and they show that more than 81,000 new applications were submitted between May and September. You can use the search tool on the UCAS teacher training website to find suitable courses.
Once you have found the course/s you are going to apply to remember that you can use the Careers Service for information and advice about the application form, and you can book an appointment for feedback on an application you’re working on (if you have now left Edinburgh then look for the appointments that are Skype-enabled). You can also use the applications and interviews resources in the Careers Service, on our website, and on MyCareerHub, and may find it useful to book a practice interview.
If you have any enquiries about any aspect of teacher training or teaching as a career you can visit the Careers Service in person (no appointment necessary), phone or contact us using Ask a Question on MyCareerHub.
